BROSTOCK 2025

After a ten-year hiatus, the iconic double-up contest/party returned to wakeboarding on Georgia’s Lake Lanier.

After years of kicking the proverbial can (beer, of course) down the road, the crew at Liquid Force decided it was time to finally bring back one of the biggest (and booziest) contributions to wakeboarding competitions in the last 20 years: BROstock. Last held on Lake of the Ozarks in 2015, BROstock has lived on through fog-filled stories and 720p YouTube videos. Thanks to some hard work and commitment from the teams at AXIS boats, One Wake, Alliance Media, and a slew of other epic sponsors/supporters, BROstock’s decade away came to an end and the good times quickly came back to life. The festivities kicked off on Friday, June 27 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, with practice double ups and the unveiling of a special piece to the BROstock festivities. At Liquid Force the “Relentless rail” holds a special place in history. Originally built at the Projects (now the Boarding School) in Bithlo, FL for filming the team video “Relentless,” the Relentless rail was sessioned by hundreds of riders over the years. Liquid Force collaborated with Unit to bring back the iconic design, and it made its debut at BROstock, so rail riders could session it between rounds of the double up festivities. Friday night was a special kickoff party at NOFO Brew Co, where heats were drawn and good times were had by all (until the power went out because of a giant thunderstorm). Being the first time BROstock was happening in a decade, Liquid Force pulled out all the stops to honor past BRO legends, many of whom were in attendance to help the event take place.

Saturday was the official return of the BRO, and it did not disappoint. By 10:00am, a dozen or so boats had already started the flotilla to watch the action from the water, while the crowd began to gather at the Lake Lanier Olympic Park venue and vendor village. With 20 riders invited and the one-and-only Shawn Watson behind the wheel of the Axis T250, double ups were served regularly and hit with all the enthusiasm you’d expect at an event of BROstock’s prestige. Highlights from the contest included a back mobe 720 from Sam Brown, Giulia Castellia – one of the two females riding in the contest – landing all three of her double ups in the first round, Ulf Ditsch boosting to the moon, and of course, crashes galore.

Fortunately for the competitors, the conditions were probably some of the best in the history of BROstock, and the double ups were hittable (and the beers were definitely drinkable). As the action continued and the flotilla grew (and grew, and grew), the vibes got higher and higher. In the end, the final round came down to some of the best double up hitters in the game: Ulf Ditsch, Tyler Higham, Sam Brown, Luca Kidd, and Thomas Herman (back-to-back winner of Double or Nothing). The drama got dramatic right off the bat, with riders going for broke and throwing down for the chance to be BROstock champion. In the end, it was none other than Luca Kidd who not only etched his place in history with a wrapped backside 1080, but it was also his first ever pro victory after seven years in the mix. Emotions ran high, and what might have been even cooler than Luca’s stoke combined with tears of emotion, was just how stoked everybody else was for him for his win.

At the awards ceremony following the contest, Liquid Force GM Don Wallace made a special presentation to Giulia for winning the first ever “Ms. BROstock” title, complete with a check for $1,000 courtesy of Susan Wallace. “Mr. BROstock” went to none other than Kai Ditsch for his valiant efforts to keep the BROstock vibes strong all day. His brother Ulf also scooped the big air award which was an laast minute adiiontal prize fronted by Steel Laffety throwing in $1000 if his own cash, matched by Hayden Berg in true Brostock fashion. Props to both those guys for adding to BROstock and Ulf for being the biggest sender all weekend. The podium played out with Tyler Higham taking third, Thomas Herman second, and Luca with the big, cardboard BRO check. Luca’s acceptance speech was one for the ages, and it led perfectly into the after party, which was headlined by local rockers The Harmony Grove Band, who put on a kickass performance while everybody else high-fived, bonged beers, and celebrated merrily.

So, BROstock is back, and as LF’n awesome as ever. Who’s ready for 2026?!
